Seven Seas Fruit
Introduction
With vast stretches of untamed wilderness and some of the country’s premier wildlife reserves, South Africa is the soil from which Seven Seas, an innovative and cutting-edge produce distributor, first arose.
Founded in 2001, Seven Seas soon established an enviable reputation as a company with a fresh, energetic and individualized approach to production and marketing. This potential was quickly recognized by Tom Lange Co, a well-established, USA-based produce distributor. With the subsequent purchase of the South African company by Tom Lange Co., Seven Seas became a wholly-owned subsidiary of a corporation with almost 50 years experience in the American fresh produce industry.
From these beginnings, Seven Seas has gone on to build a company which is global in outlook, which focuses strongly on a one-to-one approach with clients, producers and suppliers. This uniquely personal element is also seen in the company’s infrastructure. Seven Seas has put together a close-knit team of committed, experienced and hard-working employees, many of whom were drawn directly from the international fresh produce community. All are experts in their fields, and bring both enthusiasm and a rich core of knowledge to the marketing, procurement, logistics, financial and administrative aspects of the business.
These innovations thus set the company firmly on the road to rapid growth and today Seven Seas is a truly global enterprise with offices in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), St. Petersburg (Russia), Cape Town (South Africa) , Montivideo (Uruguay) and New Jersey ( U.S.A ) .
